Flavie Chenail

Flavie was born in St-Jean-Chrysostome of the Huntingdon County Québec on January 16, 1991.  Not long after her first birthday, her mother Jocelyne and her father Bernard were divorced.  Flavie and her 4 year old sister Éliane moved from their family home to live in Mercier with their mother.

Even as a young child, Flavie and her sister with tiny microphones in hand loved to entertain at home singing the tunes of Shania Twain.  Her first public singing experience at age 5 was with her sister in a choir that lasted about ten years.  At age 15 Flavie decided to leave her formal voice training as she was not satisfied with techniques provided by the teachers. That same year she performed her first show with her band at the popular Butt Saint-Jacques in Montréal.  The following year Flavie retained much of her experience performing at the Vieux Saint-Martine in Saint-Martine Québec all the while entering a few competitions.  All these experiences were beneficial to a girl of such a young age.

Since then, Flavie has worked very hard to perfecte her style and technique by researching multiple books and using the internet.  This past year she has devoted all her time to her first album ‘Comme Promis’ which includes ten unedited songs and two revivals.  Because of Flavie”s unique voice, her maturity and great interpretive talents, she has won the admiration of such writers and composers as Roger Tabra, Frédérick Baron, Vincenzo Thoma, Cédéric Tilèpe and Marie-Jo Zarb…..
